An early Ottoman foundation (waqf) village at the foot of Uludağ, about 10 km east of Bursa. It is known for its narrow streets and timber-framed houses with oriel windows. In 2014 it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of 'Bursa and Cumalıkızık: the Birth of the Ottoman Empire'.
Commissioned by Sultan Bayezid I (Yıldırım) to commemorate the victory at Nicopolis, it was built between 1396 and 1399 by the architect Ali Neccar. It is known for its 20 domes resting on twelve piers, the ablution fountain in the middle of the interior and its calligraphy collection of 192 wall inscriptions.
Commissioned by Sultan Mehmed I (Çelebi), the mosque was begun in 1412 and completed in 1419–1420 under the supervision of Hacı İvaz Pasha. It is known for the tile decoration of its interior. The octagonal Green Tomb opposite, completed in 1421, is the burial place of Mehmed I.
Housed in a former Byzantine monastery building in Tophane, the tombs are the resting place of Osman Gazi, founder of the Ottoman state, and his son Orhan Gazi. Destroyed in the 1855 earthquake, they were rebuilt by Sultan Abdülaziz in 1863.
The Bedesten at the heart of the bazaar was built by Sultan Bayezid I in the late 14th century. The surrounding Hans District is one of the components of the Bursa site added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014; historic inns such as Koza Han are in this area.
A settlement in Bursa's Nilüfer district, on a small peninsula reaching into Lake Uluabat. It was built on top of the ancient city of Apollonia ad Rhyndacum; it has remains of ancient walls and the restored Church of St Panteleimon. A Stork Festival is held every year.
A shallow, broad freshwater lake near Bursa. Protected under the Ramsar Convention since 1998, it is a breeding ground for the endangered pygmy cormorant. The lake has large white water lily beds and several islands.

Bursa has hot, dry summers and cool, rainy winters. Spring and autumn are the best seasons for walks in the village and along the lakeshore.
A trip that tells the story of the Ottoman founding period where it happened. The fact that Cumalıkızık is part of the Bursa and Cumalıkızık UNESCO World Heritage Site makes a good discussion topic for students.
In the catalogue programme, the Gölyazı visit is planned for about an hour.
