1 Night, 2 Days on Uludağ: What Is the Overnight Ski Tour Like?

A cable car over a snowy pine forest on Uludağ

Staying a night on Uludağ gives you more time to ski and splits the travel fatigue over two days. On TatiliYakala's 1-night, 2-day programme, the first day starts with breakfast in Cumalıkızık and a panoramic tour of Bursa before heading up to the Uludağ Ski and Leisure Centre, with dinner and accommodation at the hotel; on the second day, after breakfast, you visit historic sites in Bursa and return to Istanbul. It is a more relaxed pace for first-time skiers and younger groups.

How is it different from a day trip?

On the day trip, the time spent on Uludağ is limited to the afternoon, and the day stretches from early morning until arrival late at night. On the overnight programme:

  • You spend longer on the mountain, so skiing and free time are spread out.
  • As you stay the night on the mountain, the return journey is left to the next day, so you don't make two long journeys in one day.
  • Ski moves learned on the first day can be tried again with a rested body.
  • The group comes together at dinner; for school and corporate groups, this means shared memories and time to talk.

How the programme runs

Day 1

  • Meeting, refreshments on the coach and departure for Bursa via the Osmangazi Bridge
  • Spread village breakfast in Cumalıkızık
  • Panoramic tour of Bursa
  • Uludağ Ski and Leisure Centre; ski pass, ski clothing and equipment from the ski rental shop
  • Free time and skiing; cable car optional
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 2

  • Open buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Bursa: Tophane, the tombs of Osman Gazi and Orhan Gazi, the Grand Mosque, viewing terrace
  • Return to Istanbul

For programme details and the latest status, see the Uludağ tour page.

Accommodation

On the 1 night, 2 days programme, accommodation is at the Gold Majesty Hotel. Dinner and the overnight stay are at the hotel, with an open buffet breakfast the next morning. Hotel availability is confirmed once the date is fixed; we finalise details such as room allocation with you at the quote stage.

Spending the evening on the mountain

The mountain, busy during the day, quietens down in the evening. After skiing there is time to rest at the hotel, dry wet clothes and get ready for the next day. Even looking out of the window on a snowy evening is something you don't get on a day trip. In school groups, teachers can use this time for a short review or a group activity.

The cable car is optional

On the 1-night, 2-day programme the cable car is an optional extra. It's an enjoyable addition if you'd like to see Bursa from above and watch the mountain's different vegetation zones go by. For details, see our Uludağ cable car guide.

Who is it best suited to?

The 1-night, 2-day programme is especially recommended for these groups:

  • First-time skiers: you can try skiing in one day, but repeating the same moves on the second day makes the learning stick.
  • Younger students: two long journeys and a ski day in a single day can be tiring; an overnight stay eases the pace.
  • Corporate groups: dinner and the overnight stay create a setting for team bonding.
  • Families: ideal if you want to enjoy the snow with your children without rushing.

If you're short on time, the Uludağ day trip is also a good alternative.

Add to your bag

On the overnight programme, in addition to the ski clothes you wear during the day, bring comfortable clothes and slippers for the hotel, dry base layers and socks for the second day, and a bag for wet clothes. Ski jackets and trousers can be provided by the ski rental shop; you need to bring your own gloves, hat and socks.

Weather and road conditions

Access to Uludağ depends on road and snow conditions. Conditions are monitored as the date approaches; if necessary, a date change or an alternative programme is planned together with the group. For general trends across the winter season, read our article When to visit Uludağ. If your dates fall over the New Year period, you can also have a look at our New Year holidays page.

Day two for non-skiers

Not everyone in your group has to ski. One of the advantages of the overnight programme is that non-skiers can also spend time on the mountain without rushing. Snow walks, sledging, building a snowman or taking photos around the hotel are good chances to do what the first day's crowds didn't allow. The history tour in Bursa on the second day also becomes the highlight of the day for participants who aren't interested in skiing: the tombs at Tophane, the Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami) and the viewing terrace let you get to know, at street level this time, the city you saw from above the day before.

Notes for group planning

For group leaders, a few details of the overnight programme should be discussed in advance: room allocation, participants' ski levels, equipment sizes and any special dietary needs. Once the number of participants and age range are sent, equipment sizes can be prepared beforehand, which cuts the waiting time at the ski rental shop on the mountain.
